Haptyk sends anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the app. This data is sent when the app launches, every 5 minutes while running, and when you quit. It includes:
Haptyk does not record, transmit, or store any keystroke content. We never see what you type. The app reads keyboard events solely to trigger sound playback and reads the accelerometer solely to measure typing force. All sound processing happens locally on your Mac. We also never collect:
When you start the 3-day free trial, we ask for your email address and a 6-digit verification code to confirm it. We use this to prevent trial abuse and to match your email with a Lemon Squeezy purchase so your Pro license activates automatically. Your email is stored only on our server alongside a machine fingerprint and is never sold or shared. If you purchase Pro, your email is also associated with the Lemon Squeezy order so we can email you the license key.
Your settings and license key are stored locally at ~/Library/Application Support/Haptyk/. Anonymous usage statistics and trial records are stored on a server we control and are never sold or shared with advertisers.
You can ask us to delete your account and everything we hold about you at any time. That includes your email address, your trial record, your license and activation history, and the anonymous usage statistics linked to your device.
Email oli@haptyk.com with the email address you want removed. No account or form needed, a single message is enough. We confirm the deletion by reply within 30 days, and it is permanent. Note that deleting your data also ends any active trial or Pro license tied to that email, so keep a copy of your license key if you plan to reinstall later.
To remove the data stored locally on your Mac, quit Haptyk and delete the folder at ~/Library/Application Support/Haptyk/.
License key activation is processed by Lemon Squeezy (our payment provider). Trial verification emails are delivered by Resend (our email provider). Their respective privacy policies apply to those transactions. Haptyk itself does not share usage data with any third party.
