Which Macs does Haptyk work on?
Apple Silicon MacBooks that have the motion sensor: MacBook Pro 14″ and 16″ (M1 Pro, M1 Max and later), MacBook Air M2 and later, and the 13″ MacBook Pro M2. The M1 MacBook Air, the 13″ M1 MacBook Pro, Intel Macs and desktop Macs do not have it, and the app tells you at launch, before asking for an email.
Does Haptyk work on Windows?
No, and it cannot as is: Haptyk reads the accelerometer inside Apple Silicon MacBooks to measure how hard you type. On Windows, Mechvibes and KeyEcho are free alternatives that play a fixed sound per key.

The audio engine is written in C and plays the sound in under a millisecond. After three minutes without typing it pauses itself, so your MacBook sleeps normally.
